Pan African Legacy
Pan African Legacy is a cross community service organization that engages mainly the youth by offering an integrated African wellness program built around the concept of village-hood. Our target group is the youth because their quality of psychological, socio-cultural, and educational experiences is important, in at least promoting global intercultural understanding. They need social and friendship networks, social skill acquisition to cope with stress and inter-group perceptions and relations outside the classroom. For
spending more informal leisure time with their local peers has a better social adjustment impact.
At PAL the staff, participants and volunteers together build an inclusive community that contrasts social exclusion, isolation, and depression that many people in our community may be experiencing due to various barriers including culture diversity. We promote and grow cultural skills, knowledge, and networking of different cultures in communities through talks, social interaction, networking and dynamic experiences via participatory activities, exhibition spaces, pop-up shops and meeting spaces like debates, conferences, and podcasts. PAL also encourages participation in cultural art forms for wellness in the youth.
Through our cultural education and sharing experiences we aim to have youth know more about diverse multiculturalism in their communities so as to be able to understand, appreciate each other and live-in harmony. We appreciate that there are barriers that can be caused by lack of each other’s cultural knowledge and therefore our information sharing programs aim at promoting and appreciating cultural diversity by building bridges between cultures while increasing social cohesion and cultural understanding across communities
