ACOMI-WE-BELONG is a community-based initiative dedicated to promoting inclusion and equity in Manitoba Arts and Culture sector . We are connecting Black, African, Caribbean, and other racialized communities with local arts organizations to create space for youth to showcase their talents .
What ACOMI-WE-BELONG Project is All About
Our initiative is focused on four key objectives:
- Create Fairness: We work with arts organizations to ensure their rules are fair and that they create equal opportunities for everyone.
- Empower Youth: We provide young people from underserved communities with skills, mentors, and the confidence to thrive and lead in the Arts and culture sector.
- Build Community Partnerships: We build partnerships that expand opportunities for young people in the Arts and Culture sector in Manitoba,
- Celebrate Diversity: We showcase amazing cultures and talents through concerts, Film festivals, art exhibitions, cultural festivals including the Folklorama African Pavilion.
